Edgelands
Surrounding the sea of Kalk like the edge of a bowl are the Edgelands. This continent has formed from detritis breaking off from the Black Wall that has fallen into the ocean over many eons. Exposed to seawater for such a long time, the black rock has bleached over time, and nowadays supports its own biosphere comparable to that on many of the islands dotting the sea of Kalk, whose foundations consist of the same white stone.
While largely simillar in a geological sense, there's a gradual but noticeable difference in climate between the northern and southern regions of the Edgelands. Ranging from warm to almost desert-like in the north to temperate in the south and even cold, snowy regions in the furthest southern reaches. The distance from the ocean also plays a role, as the further inland one travels, the harsher the climate becomes.
Nature is not the only thing that thrives on the Edgelands, however- Over time, many different peoples have sailed over from the Tarnished God or other islands in the sea of Kalk, and have built up their livelihoods here. As time passed, these colonizers would divert from the cultures of their homelands, forming something new entirely.
